Wilderness First Aid

Provide First Aid in a Remote Location

Outdoor recreation leaders who guide or instruct activities in remote or isolated areas and who manage operational logistics for emergencies when they arise.

Successful completion of this course provides trainees with the a set of skills to equip outdoor recreation leaders to coordinate emergency response, and to provide first aid to casualties in a remote or isolated area over an extended period of time until medical assistance is provided or evacuation occurs.

SISSS00140 Wilderness First Aid is provided if the student has met all the following Units of Competency :

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

SISOFLD004 Provide first aid in remote locations

SISXEMR004 Coordinate emergency responses

 

A copy must be given to the trainer and will need to be verified with the issuing RTO prior to issuance of this skill set.

Please refer to the Student Handbook for all details in relation to student rights and responsibilities including complaints, appeals and refunds.

Students will be notified by H & A Training RTO 90871 in the event that there are any changes to the provider or unit/s the student is enrolled in.

Students do not need to bring any learning materials or resources with them to complete this course, but should note that this course is designed to be run in a remote/wilderness environment and is run over two days. This means that students should be self-sufficient including food, water, shelter, etc. Further details can be discussed by contacting our office.

This unit supersedes and is not equivalent to SISSS00126 Wilderness First Aid Release 2. Units contained in skill set updated and not equivalent.
