This course is run as a full face-to-face course where 3 hours should be allowed to complete

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks, and then to prepare for and complete those tasks in a safe manner.
This unit applies to all workers involved in manual handling tasks.
The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. The Hazardous manual tasks code of practice applies to this work.
Successful completion of this course equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks and how to manage and mitigate risks associated.

For this unit, there are both written and practical tasks to complete.
The practical tasks are:
- followed legally compliant workplace procedures to prepare for and complete at least 3 different manual tasks relevant to the work role
- contributed to a consultation process about improving manual handling safety
The written tasks include a knowledge assessment.

Third Party Providers
We also have many third party providers in which case training and assessment is delivered on behalf of H & A Training RTO 90871. If completing a course through a third party provider, please arrange and contact the third party in this case.
Literacy and numeracy skills needed to complete this course should be high enough that each student is able to individually read, write understand and communicate in basic English.
Students must have the physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting and moving.
Trainees with special needs either physical difficulties or literacy difficulties, should contact our office prior to enrolling so that assistance can be arranged for you.
