Assess the casualty (Are they alive)?

Breathing
Compressions
Assess the Casualty:
Ø Is the casualty awake and responsive?
Ø Is the casualty’s airway clear?
Ø Is their chest rising and falling?
Ø Can you hear any breathing?
Ø Are they making noises such as: wheezing, snoring, or gasping?
Ø Can you feel any breath on your cheek?
Ø Are they going blue in the face?
Ø Are there signs of shock?
Assess the casualty for injuries
CHECK
For injuries
Ø Are they bleeding?
Ø Is there swelling?
Ø Are their limbs deformed?
Ø Are there puncture wounds or scratches present?
